Art Metrano (born September 22, 1936) played the role of Rico Mastorelli, Chachi's uncle and manager of the rock band which he sings lead vocals for and fronts along with Joanie on Joanie Loves Chachi/ Metrano may be best known for his role as Lt./Capt./Cmdt. Mauser in the smash hit comedy films Police Academy 2 and Police Academy 3.

Acting career[]

Art's first film role was as a truck driver in the 1961 Cold War thriller Rocket Attack U.S.A.. Among his many TV show appearances were a 1968 episode of the NBC-TV series Ironside, a 1968 episode of the ABC-TV sitcom Bewitched, a 1976 episode of the 1970s NBC-TV sitcom series The Practice which starred Danny Thomas, and ABC's The Streets of San Francisco.

In 1977, he was a regular in the cast of the short-lived CBS situation comedy series Loves Me, Loves Me Not. However, he is better known for his frequent appearances on talk and variety shows in the early 1970s, especially The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson, as a "magician" performing absurd tricks, such as making his fingers "jump" from one hand to another, while constantly humming an inane theme song – "Fine and Dandy", an early 1930s composition by Kay Swift. Art worked with Dick Towers, a singer and entertainer, as his straight man early in his career.
