"Because It's There" is the first episode of the eleventh season of Happy Days, also the 234th overall episode in the series. Co-written by William Bickley and Michael Warren, the episode, which was directed by Jerry Paris, first aired on ABC-TV on September 27, 1983.

Synopsis[]

Fonzie tries to fulfill his old goal of conquering Suicide Hill on a motorcycle.

Storyline[]

Fonzie realizes he never accomplished a goal he set for himself as a child, and begins to lose his edge. Only after a pep talk from Chachi does he regain his confidence and set out to attain his dangerous goal. He and Chachi celebrate at the top of the mountain. Meanwhile, Howard, Marion, and Chachi find a prized position of Fonzie's and unknowingly... misplace it.

Trivia/Notes[]

  • In one scene, Fonzie wears an old beige windbreaker like the one he wore in early Season 1 episodes, before the network allowed him to wear black leather regularly.
  • This episode marked the final appearance of Pat Morita in his role of Arnold Takahashi.
  • Erin Moran (Joanie Cunningham) Anson Williams (Potsie Weber) and Ted McGinley (Roger Phillips), are all credited, but do not appear in this episode.
  • This is the first episode where the Happy Days theme song is updated again. This time, a rerecorded version was performed by Bobby Arvon.
