"Bride and Gloom" (alternately titled "Fonzie and Jenny Married") is the thirteenth episoe of the eighth season of Happy Days, also the 180th overall episode in the series. Written by Mel Sherer and Steve Grant, the episode, directed by Jerry Paris, originally aired on ABC-TV on February 17, 1981.

Synopsis[]

After Jenny's date dumps her before a big masquerade ball, Fonzie agrees to take her. They dress as a bride and groom and, as part of a talent portion of the party, have a make-believe wedding. However, since the captain of the boat performed the ceremony, the marriage may be genuine, much to Jenny's delight and Fonzie's dismay. Roger believes they can get the marriage annulled if Jenny agrees to it, but, instead, she comes into Fonzie's apartment carrying suitcases.

Storyline[]

Joanie asks Fonzie to be Jenny's date for a masquerade ball held on a ship, where they dress as a bride and groom. But after staging a mock wedding ceremony out at sea with the ship's captain dressed as a priest, the couple learns they may be married for real. Love-starved as always, Jenny is aglow at the prospect of being Mrs. Arthur Fonzarelli. She promptly moves into Fonzie's apartment and redecorates it to her taste. However, Jenny is later disappointed when proof is presented that she and Fonzie aren't married after all.

  • Note: Lynda Goodfriend, who plays the part of Lori Beth, is credited, but does not appear in this episode.
