Happy Days Wiki

Fonzie, Rock Entrepreneur: Part 1 (alternately titled Fonzie and Leather Tuscadero: Part 1) was the eighth episode of the fifth season of Happy Days, also the 96th overall episode in the series. Written by Bob Brunner, the episode, which was the first part of a two episode story arc, and was directed by Jerry Paris, premiered on ABC-TV on November 8, 1977.

Synopsis[]

Richie asks Al to give fresh-from-reform school, Leather Tuscadero, and her do-wop back-up girls, the Suedes, an audition at Arnold's Drive-In, but the Fonz isn't sure that the girl who stole his wallet when last they met can be trusted.

Storyline[]

Pinky Tuscadero's sister Leather Tuscadero (Suzi Quatro), a reformed thief-turned-musician, comes to town with her backup singers, the Suedes, to audition for a gig at Arnold's. Fonzie is wary of her after having his heart broken by Pinky, not to mention that Leather once stole his wallet and comb. But that is the least of Leather's worries; Officer Kirk threatens to close the place down if Al hires any ex-cons.

Notes[]

  • Suzi Quatro makes her first of seven appearances as Leather Tuscadero. The producers reportedly offered to give Quatro a spin-off series based on the character, but Quatro turned the offer down. Only passing references are made to Pinky, after Roz Kelly was dropped due to disagreements with the producers.
