"Hello, Mrs. Arcola" is the fourteenth episoe of the eighth season of Happy Days, also the 181st overall episode in the series. Written by William Bickley and Michael Warren, the episode, directed by Jerry Paris, originally aired on ABC-TV on February 24, 1981.

Synopsis[]

Under pressure from cousin Fonzie, Chachi invites Joanie and her parents to his house for dinner to meet his mother, but worries that his eccentric family will embarrass him in front of the Cunninghams.

Storyline[]

Ashamed of his eccentric family and being poor, Chachi is reluctant to invite Joanie over to meet his mother. Because of this, Joanie begins to think he is ashamed of her; so Fonzie comes to the rescue: He invites the Cunninghams to get together for dinner at the Arcolas' home with Chachi's mother.

  • Notes: Ellen Travolta, who appears as Louisa Arcola, Chachi's mom, who would reprise the role on Joanie Loves Chachi. Also, Lynda Goodfriend, who plays the part of Lori Beth, is credited, but does not appear in this episode.
