"Letting Go" was the second episode in Season 10 of Happy Days, also, the 213th episode in the series. Co-written by Fred Fox, Jr. and Brian Levant, the episode, directed by Jerry Paris, first aired on ABC-TV on October 12, 1982.

Synopsis[]

Joanie wants to move to Chicago with Chachi and attend Northwestern University, to the objection of her parents.

Storyline[]

Joanie and Chachi come back to Milwaukee after spending the summer in Chicago. Joanie wants to move there to be with Chachi and to continue their music career. After telling Howard and Marion her plans, which include attending Northwestern University, Howard refuses to let her go, as Joanie tries desperately to prove to her parents that she's mature enough to move away from home and continue her career in the Windy City.

  • Side Notes: Erin Moran and Scott Baio appear in this episode to set up the spinoff series Joanie Loves Chachi. Also, although out of order, this was the first episode of the season produced. Also, Anson Williams (Potsie Weber), Ted McGinley (Roger Phillips) amd (Linda Purl) Ashley Pfister all are credited but do not appear in this episode.
