Lynne Marie Stewart (born December 14, 1946, died February 21, 2025[1]) made six appearances on Laverne & Shirley, in different roles, two as Barbara Tedesco. She also provided the voice of Shirley Feeney in eight episodes of The Mork & Mindy/Laverne & Shirley/Fonz Hour.
Life & career[]
Lynne is perhaps most famous for her role as Miss Yvonne, which she first performed on stage with fellow Groundling Paul Reubens in 1981, who created the Pee Wee Herman character, both which were reprised by the actors for, and also inspired, the CBS-TV series Pee-Wee's Playhouse from 1985 to 1990 and the film 'Pee-wee's Big Adventure; She also played several different nurses on the series appearing in five episodes of MASH between 1975 and 1977.[2][3] best known for her performance as Miss Yvonne,[4] the Most Beautiful Woman in Puppet Land.
She originated the role in the 1981 stage show The Pee-wee Herman Show, in 1985's blockbuster film Pee-wee's Big Adventure, a TV movie special Christmas at Pee-wee's Playhouse (1988) and on the CBS television show Pee-wee's Playhouse; she also played the role of The Bearded Lady in "Big Top Pee-wee (1988). She returned to the role in the 2010 Los Angeles stage revival and returned again to play the role in the Broadway production which opened in November 2010 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.[5]
Stewart was born in Los Angeles, California. She played several different nurses on the television series M*A*S*H, namely Lieutenant Plummer, Lieutenant Fox, Lieutenant Clark and twice as Lieutenant Baker. She appeared on an episode of the NBC television series Night Court as Vanna Anders and as Squiggy's two-timing girlfriend Barbara on ABC-TV's Laverne & Shirley.
She has also played roles on Pee-wee's Big Adventure, Big Top Pee-wee, Night Stand with Dick Dietrick and Son of the Beach.
Most recently, she appeared in Law & Order SVU, Arrested Development, and in the 2011 film Bridesmaids . She also has a recurring role as Charlie's mom on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Lynne also appeared on a Biography profile of her best friend Cindy Williams of Laverne & Shirley TV show fame.
