"The Beatnik Show" is the sixteenth episode of the fifth season of Laverne & Shirley, also the 102nd overall episode in the series. Co-written by Barry Rubinowitz and Al Aidekman, the episode, which was directed by Joel Zwick, premiered on ABC-TV on January 21, 1980.
Synopsis[]
The girls impress beatniks at a coffeehouse with their exotic dance. Guest starring Art Garfunkel as "The Mighty Oak".
Storyline[]
A visit to a local beatnik coffeehouse does not impress Laverne much but Shirley's enamored of the culture and soon is dressing,speaking and acting like a beatnik herself. Can Laverne sway her friend back from the lure of the beat scene ?
