"The Mork Syndrome" is a play on the recent release "The China Syndrome" only not as funny, opening with an actual Chinese dinner: "no Peking!"

Mork mistakes the Air Force as a travel club and joins up as Lt. Mork Fromork. Mork goes on a secret mission for the Air Force and unintentionally blows the cover on irresponsible behavior regarding nuclear waste.

Now, Mork's ambition is to become a globetrotting traveler, as he applies for a job with the Air Force, he winds up in a lieutenant's uniform before the Captain (Robert Hogan). 30 miles outside town is the sight of a nuclear accident, very hush hush in trying to cover up a radiation leak.

Mindy sees the opportunity to brush up on her journalism skills and sets out to uncover the truth with Mork: "wherever you glow, I'll glow!" Mindy wears a mustache while Mork continues to pose as the lieutenant from Ork. The dimwitted Captain unwittingly spills the beans about the other spill, and fails to catch on to the masquerade.
